Lise Brown (MSW, RSW), Provides clinical guidance and supervision to social workers at Momenta. Lise has more than 15 years experience working with children, youth, families, agencies and communities of diverse backgrounds. Lise is grounded in strength based, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive practice combined with an experiential approach incorporating play, adventure, art, and dialogue with clients. Lise also has experience with home studies and guardianship assessments.
Sara Harrison (BA, ACCP) has an undergraduate degree in Criminology and is a graduate of the Applied Counselling Certificate Program. Sara specializes in leading remote and urban therapeutic adventure programs that provide opportunities for participants to overcome challenges, feel success, become positive contributing members of a group and reflect on how these experiences can inform their everyday life.
Amber McBurney (MSW, RSW) completed a thesis on the topic of Cultural Safety while working at Momenta for the last 5 years. Amber mentors, counsels and leads Momenta clients in individual, family and group work. Prior to her work at Momenta, Amber worked at the Independent Living Resource Centre and with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Winnipeg.
Tavia McKinnon (graduate date of June 2017, BSW) is a bilingual (French and English) social work student graduating in June 2017. Tavia mentors, counsels and leads Momenta clients in individual, family and group work. Tavia provides crisis counselling at Klinic and is currently completing her final practicum with Seine River School Division. Momenta is looking forward to having Tavia work at Momenta full time starting in May 2017.
