and Expeditions

An important stage in youth development is getting out of their everyday and trying new things! Momenta offers youth ages 5 to 17 the opportunity to meet their individual and group goals at our residential or day camps and expeditions.

Our day and overnight camps are directed toward youth-serving agencies, remote communities and groups with specialized behavioural or medical needs. Our camps and expeditions are designed with the highest level of physical and emotional safety in mind. We custom select and plan our activities to suit the age, group size and therapeutic goal of each group we work with.

As participants develop technical skills, they also develop the communication and interpersonal skills necessary to overcome challenges within a group. They are then encouraged to transfer their new knowledge to their friends, families, schools and communities. Among a high ratio of qualified and experienced staff, participants develop friendships, learn new skills and experience success in age appropriate and engaging programs.

Camps provide a great place to learn, to live and work as part of a community. Activities may include: paddling, biking, climbing, ropes courses, swimming, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, activities that encourage group cohesion, nature programs and dialogue groups.

For groups, please contact us to register. Costs vary according to activities, group size and length of time.

Expeditions are a great way to redefine roles in a group as challenges are overcome and successes are transferred to everyday life. Activities may include: hiking, paddling, cross-country skiing, and camping.

It was awesome!! I will store this memory somewhere special in my heart.

My son had an amazing time camping this week and may have even convinced his brother to go on the next trip. Your staff and programming are top notch and he is already talking about next year. He said his favourite part was kayaking which is new to him and we will have to pursue this as a summer activity for him. Thanks for creating a great experience!

I just wanted to send a huge thank you to you and your staff. We had a great time at camp and I appreciate everything you guys did/do for our kids! All your staff were wonderful . . . and they were amazing with my kids! I think they really connected and I know [my camper] appreciated [his counsellor].

We had girls that would not talk to each other ‘cause they were from different clubs and now they’re best friends and making plans for joint activities.
