Clear Paths

Adrian, Band and Community Member of Waywayseecappo First Nation, is passionate about indigenous perspective cycling programs, and leads on Treaty One Territory land, to honour truth and reconciliation. He delivers inclusive, accessible cycling programs with the goal of inspiring a connection to the land. He has devoted his life to a journey of discovering.  He is a commuter, a coach, a professional stunt rider (Trials), a bicycle technician, a passionate guide and devoted his life to a journey of discovering. 

With the ‘recreational trail’ user in mind, his efforts have been in spreading awareness for accessible and sustainable trail networks.  Having been on countless committees and boards, for both profit and non-profit, he has developed an understanding and respect for the process of planning.  Currently, he holds board positions with Manitoba Cycling Association, Trails Manitoba and International Mountain Bike Association of Canada. In 2018, Adrian was a recipient of the CBC Future 40 award.

Community consultation and trail development
Working with communities to develop safe accessible trails is a cornerstone of Clear Paths work. Once trails and active transportation corridors are developed cycling programming with a focus of sharing land-based knowledge, increased confidence through skill acquisition, and athlete development can follow. Adrian also works with architects, developers and others to respectfully address organizations about Indigenous Rights and Titles using Truth and Reconciliation calls to action 43 and 44 and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Clear Paths Adventure Club
This family-focused club meets monthly to explore trails by bike, foot or snowshoe. Occasionally workshops are offered to develop skills in these areas. The club aims to achieve Truth and Reconciliation calls to action # 87 – 91, Sports and Reconciliation. All are welcome to participate. Custom cycling programs tours and workshops
Clear Paths three-day fundamental course: this is a great program for groups and communities looking to explore cycling. The program is broken into 3-day programs:

  • Session 1 – Intro to bikes: A fleet of up to 14 bikes can be provided. Basic mechanic skills and ride basics will be taught. A ride through the community will end the day.
  • Session 2 –  Ride safety and handling: Participants will focus on skills necessary for a trip ride. Including basic mechanic skills, safety and handling and group cohesion.
  • Session 3 – Day Trip: Participants will take a day trip to a local trail area and ride with the local mountain bike club.

Workshops: basic mechanic skills, traffic and commuting skills, ride leader training, group cohesion by bike, custom workshops can be developed for your group.

Custom tours: Custom Indigenous-led rides are inclusive cycle tours that take place in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Our guide will work with clients to choose a route that is perfect for your group.
