It was so nice spending time in Sagkeeng First Nation last weekend with the Outdoor Leadership participants! So many curiosities about what we were seeing. We even ventured out to spend time with some Tamarack trees 💛
Nature club 💚 has some candidates for mayor! One of them will “make sure everyone takes care of each other and pick up their trash” (6 year old), and one will “focus on equality, reconciliation, and environmental management” (11 year old)
Last Friday, I had a beautiful day. It began driving into the sunrise to meet a group of 26 educators to talk about outdoor learning. As they reflected about their morning, they wondered “what would it be like if all educators advocated for children to play and learn outside?”, I wonder that too.
I then made my way to Momenta’s Foresthood Inservice day excited to hear the stories from the morning. I very quickly got invited to a 100% child led museum that had an exhibit of “artichokes”, us adults may call them artifacts and an experiential art exhibit where all visitors could add their own art pieces. My museum guide was not only welcoming, but encouraged me in my art making process as well. The second photo is an oak leaf [my ticket to the museum] with two stamps showing that I attended two exhibits.
I adore outdoor play and learning, I will continue to advocate for it in all spaces. It’s good for all of us.
Do you ever wonder what would happen if we all spent more time outside? - Lise
We are so grateful to have been gifted a painting by @kevcelestino ❤️ Kevin came for a visit today!
“In this piece, the island represents Momenta and their ability to do programming in all the seasons” - Kevin Celestino
We had a fun filled weekend in Bloodvein First Nation with the ‘Stepping Out on Saturdays’ program participants. Lots of curiosity and excitement on our outdoor adventures to our favourite spots. Looking forward to returning in November!
"I love this spot. I'm listening to the trees" - Program Participant
Posted @withrepost • @balmoralhall Our Grade 8 students had their first experiential learning day of the year courtesy of @experiencemomenta. Our friends at Momenta educated the Grade 8s on the history of Treaty 1 and took them on a walk to see the Heritage Wall in Upper Fort Garry Heritage Provincial Park.
