Our Foresthood programs are designed to connect children to nature. The curriculum is developed by observing children’s play. When themes emerge, we use inquiry-based learning to develop knowledge or solutions. Children are encouraged to interact with nature with all of their senses, to develop socially, to build curiosities about the world around them, to find calm, to be physically active, to be stewards of the land, and to be in nature in safe and age-appropriate ways.
Delivered around the fields, forests, and creeks of Woodhaven Park, in-service programs are an opportunity for participants to consider their relationship to the natural world. Momenta’s staff facilitate an environment for child-led inquiry, risky play, and outdoor adventure with the goal of developing positive social connections and inspiring land stewardship!
We run full-day place-based programs on in-service days for Winnipeg, Pembina Trails, and St. James Assiniboia School Divisions! Programs take place at Woodhaven Community Centre from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The program is for children aged 4 to 11 years old.
Inservice programs are currently full and registration is closed.
