Forest and Nature School programs are designed to connect children to nature. The curriculum is developed by observing children’s play. When themes emerge, we use inquiry-based learning to build knowledge or solutions. Children are encouraged to interact with nature with all their senses, develop socially, build curiosities about the world, find calm, be physically active, be stewards of the land, and be in nature in safe and age-appropriate ways.
Delivered around the fields, forests, and creeks of Woodhaven Park, in-service programs are an opportunity for participants to consider their relationship to the natural world. Momenta’s staff facilitates an environment for child-led inquiry, risky play, and outdoor adventure to develop positive social connections and inspire land stewardship!
We run Forest and Nature School programs on in-service days in Winnipeg. Programs take place at Woodhaven Community Centre from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The program is for children aged 4 to 11 years old.
