Our Foresthood programs are designed to connect children to nature. The curriculum is developed by observing children’s play, when themes emerge, we use inquiry-based learning to develop knowledge or solutions. Children are encouraged to interact with nature with all of their senses, to develop socially, to build curiosities about the world around them, to find calm, to be physically active, to be stewards of the land, and to be in nature in safe and age-appropriate ways.
Nature Club is an outdoor after-school program for participants aged 4–11. After gathering at Laura Secord School, the group walks to a park within the Wolseley community to play, rain or shine! With the guidance of Momenta’s staff, there is a focus on relationship-building (to self, to each other, and to outdoor spaces), risky play, and child-led discovery. Nature Club is a fun, meaningful way to increase physical activity, explore the community, and get outside!
Nature club is currently full, and registration is closed.
