Our Foresthood programs are designed to connect children to nature. The curriculum is developed by observing children’s play. When themes emerge, we use inquiry-based learning to develop knowledge or solutions. Children are encouraged to interact with nature with all of their senses, develop socially, build curiosities about the world around them, find calm, be physically active, be stewards of the land, and be in nature in safe and age-appropriate ways.
This program is an opportunity for K–6 classrooms to achieve curriculum outcomes in a nature-based learning environment!
Following the Forest School philosophy that children are capable, participants in this program will engage in risky play, student-led outdoor adventures, and inquiry-based learning. Momenta’s staff will facilitate customized activities that foster connections to outdoor spaces and to each other, with the goal of inspiring land stewardship, emotional regulation, and a holistic learning environment.
