Paddle Canada Lake Canoe Program
The Lake Canoe Program is designed to provide a solid foundation of the knowledge and skills necessary for open water lake paddling. The items included in this program are of importance to all lake canoeists, as they expand on canoe basics and transfer skills and knowledge to the environment of open water.
This program provides participants with the theory and skills necessary for a day-long canoe trip in open water with a variety of wind conditions. However, with practice many of the skills can be transferred to multi-day expeditions. The program covers timed and difficult rescues, specialized equipment, a variety of forward & turning strokes, efficiency and precision, as well as challenging paddling conditions.
Paddle Canada Basic Kayak Skills
The skill levels stream begins with an introduction to kayaking and evolves to the development of the skills and knowledge necessary for safe sea kayak touring.
